The Department of Agricultural Economics sees the globalization of agriculture
as a serious trend in the food and agricultural industry. The department set a
goal to have 20% of our undergraduates study abroad during their time at Purdue,
we reached this goal and are now aiming for 25%.
Students in the Department of Agricultural Economics have
experienced semester study abroad programs in Australia,
New Zealand, Poland, Sweden, and other countries. Students
have done summer internships and study abroad programs in
England, France, Honduas, and Japan, as well as month-long
programs in China and Russia. Last year, the department’s
Farm Management Club even spent it's Spring Break studying
in Brazil.
Take a closer look at these wonderful opportunities:
The spring break destinations for 2008 are Honduras and Italy, both excellent locations and courses.
New this year is a winter break course offered through Entomology focusing on the migratory habits and environment of monarch butterflies in Mexico.

“Learning how the world does business requires knowing
about the people and culture behind it. Purdue offers excellent chances to experience
it first hand. Not taking advantage of these resources would be a lifelong regret.”
