Directory

Exporting
(From Gradebook)

1. Open your course in VISTA.

2. Under the teach tab select Grade Book.

3. Select Export.

4. Use all defaults that appear.

5. Click on Export.

6. Select Save.

7. Enter the file name you wish to use.

8. Remember where you are saving the file.

9. You can now close VISTA.

Editing
(The Export from Gradebook)

1. In Excel open the file you exported.

2. Make the necessary changes to
the spreadsheet.

3. Save in .csv format.

These can now be uploaded to the
VISTA grade book.

 

Importing
(Back To Gradebook)

1. Open your course in VISTA

2. Under the teach tab select Grade Book.

3. Select Import.

4. Use all defaults that appear.

5. Click on Import.

6. Browse for your file name and click upload.

7. First Name should be set to - Do Not Import

8. Last Name should be set to - Do Not Import

9. User Name should be set to - User Id

10. Role should be set to - Do Not Import

11. Click Import.

12. You will see:

Import Errors
The following column(s) were not imported as Requested:
First Name
Last Name
Role

Click OK

13. If you added a new column of grades, click Column Settings.

13a. Under the label you want to have displayed change the type if you want.

13b. If you want the student to see this grade, you may have to change No to Yes.
13c. If this is a grade, you may need to change Grade Column from No to
Yes.

14. Click back to Grade Book.

15. There may be errors if column entries do not have any data. Simply add in zeros for every entry that should be blank.
