here for convenience, with labels in Stata format,
links to their original sources for citation and updating, and all country
codes updated to ISO
3166. Presenting the data in this
format facilitates merging the data by ccode and
year, as needed. As always, care must
be exercised to be sure that country codes are consistent -- for example, in
other datasets Romania is variously ROU or ROM. Thanks for assembling the
files goes to Andres Garcia. There
are many other compilations of international data, with various codings and labeling formats. A few commonly-used sources include the Development
Gateway, Harvard’s Center for
International Development, Columbia’s World Data Center, The World
