Congratulations and Names in the News
Otto Doering has been appointed by the Governor and the
Superintendent of Public Education to serve on the Indiana
Education Roundtable. This group includes business and community
leaders who focus on issues facing Indiana’s public
education system from primary school to college.
Augustine Langyintuo accepted a position with the International
Water Management Institute (IWMI) as Economist/Research
Policy Broker to be based in Accra (Ghana) office.
Steve Slinsky has won the Purdue University Graduate Student
Outstanding Teaching Award.
Thought You Would Like To Know
Mrs. Dortha Parker Osmun, whose husband was on the faculty
in Biochemistry, has a house available for rent. It is located
4 miles west of campus in a wooded area with a large yard
and a pond stocked with fish. The house has 4 bedrooms,
2.5 baths, 2 fireplaces and an attached garage. It is located
in the Klondike/Harrison school district. If you are interested,
call Mrs. Osmun at 497-9950.
The Department was saddened by the death of Mavuangi Khonde,
a Ph.D. student in AGEC. Khonde was from the Congo and leaves
behind a wife and four sons. Khonde will be remembered for
his charming personality. An account has been set up at
PEFCU for donations to the family.
