HARRY W. LEONARD (1895-1978)
Through Professor Leonard's efforts, farm management training was incorporated
into the Vocational Agricultural programs throughout the state. During the
latter part of his career, he gave major emphasis to development of a farm
records analysis program through the Vocational Agriculture program. Harry
joined the Purdue staff in 1937 as an Instructor in Agricultural Education
to provide farm management training for Agricultural Education teachers. He
had previously farmed, been a Vocational Agriculture teacher, and a farm manager
for the Metropolitan Life In-surance Company. After his retirement in 1964,
as Professor Emeritus, he continued as a one-half time consultant on this program
for six more years. He was a diligent and effective force in several professional,
civic, and church organizations to which he belonged. B.S.A. Purdue, 1921;
M.S.A. Purdue, 1932.
