Holly Wang joined the department as Associate Professor in 2007. She worked at Washington State University for ten years prior to that as Assistant and then Associate Professor.
Her research has been focused on agricultural risks, derivative markets, and crop insurance. Dr. Wang has advised ten PH.D students as their major professor, and most of them are working in the finance industry today. She has taught Ph.D level courses in supply and demand systems, decision analysis, and marketing; Master level courses in econometrics and agribusiness marketing; as well as undergraduate courses in corporative finance and Chinese economy.
Dr. Wang is interested in international issues recently, especially agricultural risks and finance in China. She travels to China every year and has developed a broad professional network there.
Dr. Wang is the current President of Chinese Economists Society (www.china-ces.org), a US based organization focusing on the research of Chinese economic issues.
She resides in West Lafayette with her husband, Hao Zhang in Statistics, and their two daughters.
