Purpose: To continue the emergency extrication service which has been provided by the City to the
County for many years, and to compensate the City for providing this service. (P. 1)
Function: Public safety, Emergency medical service
Type: Collaboration
Organization: Joint agreement. No governing board. Single supply: City will supply emergency services through its fire department in exchange for annual remuneration paid by the County.
Duration: 5 years, commencing January 1, 1995. (P. 1) At the end of this term, the parties may
renegotiate this contract for such additional terms and upon such conditions as the parties may then
agree. (Pp. 2-3)
Services delivered: City shall furnish and provide an emergency extrication service, through its
municipal fire department, throughout the entire geographical area of Lawrence County. (P. 1)
Staffing and supplying: Personnel of City's fire department shall have received appropriate and
ongoing technical training and certification in emergency extrication procedures. (P. 2)
Financing: County shall pay the City as follows:
a) For the year 1995, the sum of $65,500;
b) For the year 1996, an amount equal to twice the average amount of compensation (including wages, health insurance, workmen's compensation, PERF, FICA, and clothing allowance) paid by the City to each fireman (excluding the Fire Chief and the Assistant Fire Chiefs) during the year 1995;
c) For the year 1997, same as for 1996, but base year is 1996;
d) For 1998, same as for 1996, but base year is 1997;
e) For 1999, same as for 1996, but base year is 1998. (Pp. 1-2)
County shall pay over to City one-half of the annual monetary consideration on or before the
15th of January and the remaining one-half on or before the 15th day of July, in each year covered
by this agreement. (P. 2)
