Topic: Inter-governmental sharing of vehicles

Date: 1994 July

Purpose: To formally agree to let Greenwood Police Officer Mark Myers use his Greenwood City police vehicle as he performs his duties as Johnson County Coroner. (P. 1)

Function: Support functions, Fleet management/Vehicle maintenance, Emergency vehicles

Type: Collaboration

Organization: Joint agreement. No governing board. Single supply: City is providing a vehicle for use by the County; County will reimburse City for such use.

Duration: January 1, 1994 through December 31, 1994 unless voluntarily terminated by one of the parties. (P. 2)

Financing: County will pay $2,000 in two equal installments to reimburse City for the cost of use of the vehicle and its fuel. City's Clerk-Treasurer shall make claim to County's Auditor on or before September 1, 1994 and December 1, 1994 for processing and payment. (P. 1)

Administration: Coroner shall limit his use of the City's police vehicle to the performance of his duties as coroner. (P. 1) Coroner shall turn in all mileage traveled to Greenwood Clerk-Treasurer's Office by December 1, 1994; City will use this information to decide if agreement should be extended or a new one negotiated. (P. 2) County agrees to carry general public liability insurance in an amount equivalent of 2 million dollars and automobile liability insurance in an amount equal to 1 million dollars per accident. City shall be made an additional insured and such policies shall provide that they will not be canceled unless at least 15 days prior written notice has been given to the City in care of the mayor.

Liability: County shall hold City harmless against all claims, actions, etc. at any time asserted against the City arising out of the coroner's use of the City vehicle pursuant to this agreement. This indemnity shall not be limited by reason of any insurance coverage required herein. (P. 2)

Termination: Voluntary termination shall be accomplished by written notice delivered by a party to the other party. The effective date of termination shall not be less than 5 days after the delivery of the notice. Upon termination, County shall pay $166.66 for each month or portion thereof for which the coroner used the City vehicle prior to termination. (P. 2)
