Purpose: To provide a joint communications system between the Lebanon Police Department and
the Boone County Sheriff's Department. (P. 1)

Organization: Joint agreement. No governing board. Joint supply: County will furnish and maintain all basic communications equipment, provide equipment operators, and provide the communications service; Communications facility will be located inside the Boone County Jail; City contributes certain computer hardware. Duration: January 1, 1992 through December 31, 1995. Renewable at the option of the parties.

Staffing and supplying:. City will furnish telephone lines as necessary. Position of dispatcher in
the City shall be eliminated when the communications facility at the jail is completed. At that time,
City communications personnel will be given the opportunity to transfer to the Boone Jail as County
employees. City will transfer all remaining salaries and benefits. (Pp. 1-2)
Financing: City will pay county sum of $80,000 for 1993. Sum will pay the salaries of four (4)
communications operators. Will also help pay for all communications services that will be provided
by the County to the City. (P. 2)
Administration: Disciplinary actions of communications personnel handled by Boone County
Sheriff. (P. 1) Annual sum paid by City to County shall be fixed by the two parties by September
10th of each year. (P. 2)
Termination: Either party may terminate this agreement in any year by giving written notification
to other party on or before July 1st. Termination is effective at the end of that calendar year. (P. 2)
