Services delivered: City will provide a primary Medic I ambulance unit and 2 Back-Up units.
Each unit is to be staffed by 2 Emergency Medical Technicians, each having a particular level of
training. Backup units will also be provided through the City's interlocal agreement with
Columbus Regional Hospital. (pp. 1-2)
Financing: City and County each pay one-half of total costs not covered by the collection of fees.
For each of the first 3 quarters of 1995 the County will transfer $20,000 to the City. Fourth quarter
payment is based upon the annual budgeted amount, less collections to date, less county payments
to date, less 60% of outstanding collectibles. County then pays ½ of remaining deficit, or is credited
for ½ of surplus. Forty-five (45) days after the close of the fourth quarter, settlement will be made
between the two parties based on actual collection of fees in 1995. (pp. 3-4) Any unspent
appropriations become part of a non-reverting fund to be used for purchases of equipment. (p. 4)
Administration: All administrative duties handled by the City. Includes hiring and training staff. City responsible for negotiating an interlocal agreement with Columbus Regional Hospital for emergency medical services and collection services. (pp. 2-3) Any legal action taken to collect fees will first be reviewed and approved by both the City and County. (p. 4)
